In this year 2020, Bande à part members are humbly but actively trying to do their part to help make Quebec cinema more diverse. This is why this year, the internship offer will only target people belonging to underrepresented groups in the film industry and more specifically in sound post-production who are looking to fine-tune their sound editing skills. (woman, trans, non-binary, racialized, indigenous or person with disabilities*)
Through this initiative, we hope to encourage the up and coming sound designers that too often struggle to find their place in this industry.
The internship was set up by the members of the co-op who generously undertake to share their knowledge and their passion with the next generation. This is why the internship is unpaid and requires an active presence in the studios of 20 hours per week or a total of 240 hours over three months. In order to qualify, prospective interns must have a basic knowledge of postproduction tools and of film language.**
We strongly encourage you to get in touch with us and ask all your questions regarding the internship before sending your application.
* Please note that our facilities are unfortunately not accessible for a person using a wheelchair. The amount of steps in the entrance would not allow us to build a safe ramp. If you are in a wheelchair and would like to improve your knowledge in sound design, do not hesitate to contact us directly.
** Participant must speak basic French
